Onoso Imoagene is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at University of Pennsylvania (click here to visit her UPENN website) . A graduate of University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and Cambridge and Harvard Universities, she is interested in researching the intersection of race, immigration, and the life course especially among first and second generation Africans. Taking a comparative approach, she evaluates these issues in the United States and Britain and between immigrant sending and receiving areas. Her work has been published in top immigration and race and ethnicity journals.
She is currently conducting research on Ghanaian and Nigerian Diversity Visa Lottery winners in the United States, their families back home,and a matching cohort of non-DV winners.
